NO WAY BACK

A semi-sequel to American Yakuza, No Way Back was released theatrically in Japan and picked up by Columbia Tri-Star in the US. It was slated for a domestic theatrical release but became an HBO World Premiere instead.

The film was the first American venture for actor Russell Crowe, now well known for his roles in Gladiator, L.A.Confidential and his Oscar nominated performances in A Beautiful Mind and The Insider. The film also starred Helen Slater (City Slickers, Supergirl, Ruthless People) and Japanese superstar Etsushi Toyokawa.
